Britain has an incredible history of tea-making and tea-culture. We’ve got to the point where tea can be acquired almost anywhere, and the morning tea-break is observed nationwide. With this ubiquity though, much of the ceremony surrounding a proper cuppa has been lost. The Tea for Two cabinet is intended to address this, providing a special case for a special tea service, and a few of your favourite varieties. Space for two mugs and a two-mug pot show that this a modern answer to a traditional social ritual: a cuppa and a chat.
Despite its box-like silhouette, Tea for Two's exterior has serious presence thanks to its book-matched quarter-sawn oak panels and engineered brass-work. The interior layout is a balance between an attractive organisation of the tea service, and the need for an efficient use of space. Various items bulge past their half of the cabinet, and allowances have had to be made in the dividers on the opposite side to allow for this. Careful arrangement of the interior allows the contents to really shine, with compactness and usability being the core driving forces behind the design.
